Monica Rigali is the Vice President of Marketing and Digital at SportRX, San Diego’s premier destination for prescription sport eyewear. Prior to SportRX, her career in sports and brand marketing spanned leadership roles with global sports brand Nike, Inc., FOX Sports, and JanSport, where she was Vice President of Brand Management.
A former broadcast journalist, Monica started her marketing journey as a brand communications specialist at Nike and, as a former soccer player and track athlete, soon worked her way into sports marketing, managing professional soccer talent and the U.S. Soccer Federation for Nike’s North American Soccer division. In twelve years at Nike, Monica made her mark signing contracts with rising pro athlete stars such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Tim Howard and Landon Donovan. Her deep roots in global soccer led her to accept a role as Marketing and Communications Director with FOX Sports in Los Angeles, where her portfolio included global sports properties like the English Premier League, FIFA World Cup and Major League Soccer.
In 2017, Monica traded in team sports for the “outdoor adventure” life, joining VF Corporation as Director of Marketing and eCommerce for adventure travel brand Eagle Creek. A purpose-driven leader, she launched Eagle Creek’s first millennial-focused travel campaign, “Quit Your Job,” tapping into the wanderlust of a travel-inspired generation and growing the adventure travel brand into a premier resource for serious globetrotters. She soon promoted to Senior Director and took the marketing helm at iconic teen backpack brand JanSport before adding Eastpak North America to a growing VF Corp brand portfolio.
Monica’s current role as head of Marketing and eCommerce at SportRX allows her to work with iconic brands such as Oakley, Ray-Ban and Maui Jim, again aligning her experience with global brands consumers love.
Outside of work, Monica is an avid runner, having completed 21 marathons and countless half marathons, 10K’s and 5K’s. She lives in Temecula, CA, with her husband, Mark, and has two sons.
